Ggantija Temples

The Temples of Ggantija, is one of the few Neolithic testimonies in the world dating back to the period 3200 and 3600 BC not to be missed. Despite its age, this archaeological site is in a good state of preservation.

its good preservation is due to the material used for their construction. Thanks to the coral limestone blocks.

An ancient mythology of the inhabitants of Gozo, it says that once these Ggantija Temples were built by giants, because of the considerable volume of these. Each block can also be up to 5 meters long and weigh up to 50 tons, it is understandable with these data to give life to rumors that today are only mythology.

The Temples of Ggantija are one of the monuments recognized by UNESCO as the oldest in the world along with the Egyptian Pyramids and Stonehenge.
